Hello I am another new chicken mama. I live in Ridgefield, CT and would love any local advice on resources for hay, feed etc. Hoping to keep them "organic" and they are eggs only members of the family. Building a coop, but right now they are in the house in a dog crate surronded by a cardboard wall to keep out any drafts and the dogs

, and making an incredible mess for such small creatures! We have one buff orpington, one ancona, two australorps and one easter egger. Hoping they are all hens. Lost two the first day from mypetchicken and they sent the wrong breed. However, customer service representatives prior to their arrival were exceedingly helpful on how to prepare, etc. If we fill out the flock I will most likely buy local next time. Look forward to reading everyones posts.
