He may be younger, he made his first crow with me on Monday and the previous owner said he never laid an egg with her but never crowed either

Has anyone ever tried a prosthetic, like part of a fake fingernail or something 3D printed affixed with epoxy or super glue? We just got our first ready lays (after years of day olds) and have run into the debeaking problem. Appreciate any help or referrals.
