Hi, So sorry about your poor birds. I had a similar thing happen. I was lucky to save 2 birds and and injured turkey. I did talk to animal control and they have loaned me traps. Unfortunately the dogs keep escaping. I will get them though. I will be getting a heavy duty pellet gun and maybe a .22. If I get them I will not be sorry. These dogs are a danger. When pets kill pets it is not for food it is for fun. Also, talk to your other neighbors.... when I did that I found that at least 4 other people have lost chickens and rabbits. What next will they go after?
I got some new chick soon after it happened. It helps to focus on something good. They will be inside for a long time and in the mean while I will re-enforce my chicken run. I know nothing helps but I wish you all the best in what ever you choose to do.
