OMG! Me too! The first fluffy chicks I had were from my broody. I had so many problems with temp and humidity in my styro bators. I am not sure if I could just not get the hang of them, or if it was because they were OLD and worn out :dunno Either way, ALL my chicks hatched nasty and sticky so they did not get fluffy. I often had to help them out also because they would get stuck.
I am IN LOVE with my new bator. Chicks are FLUFFY in a few hours! Temp has been rock solid and humidity easy to control. Everything is going so well and I have 13 FLUFFY chicks and 3 drying with several more pips
. If you need a new bator, get the
Brinsea Eco!! It is small, but you cannot beat the ease of operation or the quality of this thing. Should be easy to clean too, I am actually not totally dreading cleaning this thing once the hatch is done. *off my soapbox*
Good luck to everyone else who is still hatching! We are all going to post pics when w can ... right?
I will NEVER go back and am already planning my next
Brinsea purchase! Bators are like tater chips ... you cannot have just one
ETA: I have the turner. I have come to hate digital thermos/hygros (not able to adjust, the ones I have gotten are usually wrong), so I just double checked the temp and the therm installed in the
Brinsea was right on with mine. I got an adjustable, analog hygro from Bargain Humidor on
eBay for less that $5 with shipping, the thing is right on the money! and I could not beat the price.
