New brinsea incubator

This will be my first time incubating eggs. My new eco 20 is comming on Tues., hopefully eggs shortly thereafter. I was wondering if any of you who have used them simply followed the included instructions (I' m hoping they're included) or if you made adjustments.

Alot of people have used the brinsea. If you hit the search button at the top, type in brinsea you will find all kinds of posts where people have given their opinion, or tweeks and things they have had to do.

I personally don't have one, but have read good things about it.

Soon you will be sitting here all night, like some of us waiting for that chick to finish hatching.

It becomes and addiction and everybody here is an enabler, so watch out

Not soon enough. I hope to have silkies in that incubator by this time next week. They are the cutest things ever.

I just hatched 8 ducklings and 4 chicks in my Brinsea Eco 20 (no turner). I pretty much followed the directions that came with the incubator. I would recommend purchasing a digital thermometer/hygrometer. Other than that it was simple, effective, and well worth the money spent!

I will NEVER go back and am already planning my next Brinsea purchase! Bators are like tater chips ... you cannot have just one

ETA: I have the turner. I have come to hate digital thermos/hygros (not able to adjust, the ones I have gotten are usually wrong), so I just double checked the temp and the therm installed in the Brinsea was right on with mine. I got an adjustable, analog hygro from Bargain Humidor on eBay for less that $5 with shipping, the thing is right on the money! and I could not beat the price.​

My wife and I got the Brinsea 20 ECO and love it. I am the one running this hatch (I'm retired and home most of the day) and put a analog humidity gauge (out of my cigar humidor) and a digital temp/humidity gauge in there. We have 16 bantam cochin frizzle eggs in there now and it will be intersting to see how we do. This is our very first time hatching via an incubator.

Words of advice: get it setup and let it come up to temp/humidity for about 2-3 hours. Then have all your eggs right there ready to go. Lift the lid, slide in the racks and eggs and cover it up. LEAVE IT BE, in the course of about 4-6 hours with the lid no longer removed it will stabilize rock solid and you can hang back and drink a cup of coffee and humm along with me

Thanks for the help. I bought the wet buld hygrometer to go with it, no auto turner though. Is it Tues, yet?
