Went to a swap an hour away in the early hours this morning. I was drooling on myself and it was raining so I was looking forward to a good start to make this day worth it. It was my first swap, and I wasn't really expecting much. However, there was a good variety there. Mostly chickens, goats and rabbits, but there were some people with ducks. So, in the pouring cold rain I found this little girl. My sister was holding the carrier because she was after silkie chickens, so I had to wrap this girl in my hoodie and she was mad, but only so mad. I brought her home and let her run around with my runners to see how well they got along, and she immediately became the popular one. I've named her Barbie.
Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
