What is the expected cost of this coop 'ma jal'
no clue really.
the pallet of 5,000 psi concrete was ~$300ish i believe.
the re-bar and c-purlins were left over from a 40'x40' metal building/barn build.
the 4x4 square tubes that hold the roof up i believe totaled ~$200ish
the roof panels were $300ish i believe.
spent ~$80 yesterday on ~20 or 21 (96") yellow pine 2x4 studs to frame out the coop floor and secure the bottom predator mesh around the inside of the concrete footer.
mesh and the hog-rings to connect it all was leftover from screens i made to keep deer off of the old lady's plants.
going to use OSB roof decking leftover from building the new house for the floor.
wife is sourcing some linoleum and mastic to put down over the OSB for the coop floor, over which mulch/shredded leaves deep litter will go.
will need more studs, siding, hardware cloth, hinges, etc. for walls/windows/doors as i go along.
will try to remember to advise on costs as I continue along.
there is no real plan here, i'm just kinda making it up as igo along.
there are other small costs associated like 6010 and 6011 welding sticks, binder screws for roof panels (leftover from barn build), gas for the generator, diesel for the tractor, flapper and cutting wheels for the angle grinder, cold beer, etc., but i'm not keep track of all that stuff.
hoping to have the coop finished in ~3 weeks for chicks/pullets to move in, but we'll see what the weather nd my free time looks like.
after that, construction on the "prison yard" will begin, then gutter/water collection system and trenching to run water and electrical lines out there from the well house will go in.
thanks for your interest and ideas.
