Hey all! I live in Minnesota where we can go from 105°F in the summer to -30°F in the winter.

I grew up on a farm that had chickens and other animals, but this is my first time raising chickens as an adult and being fully responsible for their care.

We currently have 5 hens/pullets that free range on .27 acres of land.

Hiya, Sam, and welcome to BYC! :frow

I'm from Minnesota, but have been in Wisconsin for many years, so I know all about those lovely temps and the long, cold winters! If I didn't have chickens, I'd be a snowbird and go south for a few months.

We're glad you're here!

Welcome to BYC.
It is amazing how we were around chickens and other farm animals growing up but once it sunk in they are dependant on me, I knew nothing.😊

Ha! I’m from Wisconsin and live in Minnesota! I’ve often wondered why I still live here and dream of warm weather from Oct 1-May30
