hi, we have a call duckling hatched late last night, and now under a brinsea brooder, at the middle level, its not as warm as I thought it would have been. has anyone experience of this, just worrying duckling will get too cold through the night..

What's your thermometer reading?
Maybe block the baby off in the warmer end of the brooder if you can??
Um...do you have pictures? I LOVE ducklings.

hi

temp is about 28

I have photos taken this morning, but can't see how to upload?

many thanks Pauline

OK, Pauline, excuse my ignorance, but what is 28? I'm assuming that's Celcius?

yes - sorry I should have said, about 28 c or 82 fahrenheit, what would that sound like?

Yep too cold. Those have light bulbs and a wafer right? Maybe you need a higher wattage bulb...

hi, thanks for help, its now sitting at 102. f. do you think this is ok, what is ideal temp range? Duckling is eating and drinking, v. bright for now anyway.

Pauline
