Randie is DEFINITELY big on personality. She's been my "problem child" since day one, but I love her to pieces. I should have called her Bruiser

I got a digital SLR camera for Christmas...it's a Nikon D40. You can work the settings so you don't get the blurr.

I'm lucky with my girls...I can sit in the coop on a stool by their roost and they just sort of hang out and let me photograph them. Having sunflower seed hearts nearby for a treat, and to keep their interest in staying close, helps too

Keep trying Wildsky! They'll get used to it!

Absolutely beautiful pictures! The lighting, etc. looks professional. What kind of camera is it? I'm still in the dark ages with my 35 mm Nikon. My kids know how to use the digital...but I'm still clueless. Tracy, is your new camera easy to use??

Thanks BJ! The lighting is totally natural. Their roost is in front of a window and at the right time of day when they stand there I get these great lighting effects.

My Nikon D40 is a digital SLR and VERY easy to use. It has a number of pre-sets for different "situations"...fast movement, low-light, portraits, extreme close-ups

...and you can also manually adjust things. I'm still learning about the manual adjustments, I've always had just a point-and-shoot camera so there's lots that my new camera does that I don't really understand how to use. But, the presets are working great so far while I learn about all the other bells and whistles.

I wanted to try to take some "studio shots" too, and bought some interesting fabrics to use as backdrops, but I haven't had much success yet getting them to cooperate to THAT extent...I will keep trying though
