My one year old aseel hen survived new castle disease but she is lethargic from a week qnd not eating much and lost a lot of weight .what should i do ?
Was it domestic/endemic Newcastle or exotic Newcastle?
The answer to your question depends on which type.
For the domestic type, mortality is low and treated by keeping the birds warm and well fed.
For exotic, mortality is about 50% in adults and up to 90% in young birds.
This is a reportable disease and all equipment and housing should be cleaned and disinfected with lye or chlorine bleach.
