New chick equipment; worried about contamination -- need advice

well I only do it with brand new stuff or previously cleaned with scrubbing and soap first. I would never put anything straight from the brooder into a place that also washes what I eat off of even though it would probably be fine. just too yucky to consider

If one could afford it I would spend the extra money and get all new never been used stuff.
Would be better than spending all the time cleaning it all and then worrying alot about it afterwards when your chicks come. If any of them should ever get sick and I certainly hope they don't you'll probably blame it all on yourself for getting the returned stuff!

It's something I know that I would do, blame myself.
But since you have got it already just do what these folks here have suggested and I'm sure you'll be fine!

Just to reiterate, I avoided the stuff that was returned. But it all sat on the shelf together.
