New "chick" here

Hi everyone!!

I'm Cayce and I live in BC, Canada... I've been lurking on your forum for a few days now and decided to join in. I currently have 9 hens - 3 Araucanas, 1 Salmon Faverolle, 1 Black Star, and 4 Rhode Island Reds.

I'm wanting to get more involved with incubating, hatching, raising, etc, chicks so I will probably have lots of questions. I'm very excited to get started on my new "adventure".

I'm currently looking at ordering some chicks... The ones I'm interested in getting are: Speckled Sussex, (black) Jersey Giants, Cuckoo Marans, Blue Laced Red Wyandottes, and some more Araucana's.

I look forward to getting to know everyone here!

Cayce, welcome to BYC! I like Speckled Sussex too. When you get some, post some pics. You'll like it here. I lurked for a couple months before I joined, because I had never been part of a forum before. But soon you will consider almost all of these people as friends, in many ways. Some for sympathy, some for a good laugh, some for factual advice and some for anecdotal advice. But we all care about our chickens, and our friend's chickens too.

Thanks for the warm welcome!! I've already found some good suggestions in some of the other parts of the forum that I've been making notes of. I'm looking into building my own incubator and am planning to (hopefully) place my order for the chicks in the next few days - I'm so excited!!

Don't worry I'll post lots of pictures when they get here!!

I'm also in the process of putting together a spiffy new coop and run for my current girls
