Hi! I just got new chicks from Breese Farms. I ordered 4 Swedish Flower Hens and 2 cream Legbar females. I received 4 extra that they said were Rhode Island Reds. I feel like I am have trouble determining who is who. I only saw one that remotely looked like RIR (labeled 1). I see the swedish but the yellow spot on some of their heads seems indicative of a different breed. The on chick, labeled 6 seems to have a crest puff but body markings look possibly different that the Cream Legbar. First picture is of everyone, the others are labeled with who I could get to stand still! Lol.

I'm not having much luck finding any Rhode Island Reds in those pictures either.
I agree that chick 1 looks "remotely" like a RIR, but I'm doubtful even about it.

For the ones with yellow headspots, I wonder if they might be Cream Legbar males?

You may have to wait until they grow up a bit to accurately sort them out, because I agree that it quite a confusing situation right now!

The only one that strikes me as a possible RIR is the chick #1 but even then the eye markings and color seem off to me.

Hopefully you'll be able to sort them.

Hi! Back again! At almost 3 weeks old, this one is a mystery. I ordered cream leg bar and Swedish flour hens and they sent me extra, which they said were Rhode Island reds. At this point I don’t believe any of them are Rhode Island reds. I think I can tell three of the four Swedish flowers I ordered and the rest maybe cream leg bar. But this one doesn’t seem to fit either breed really. Any thoughts?

I think that might be a Swedish Flower hen, too. Or, if the legs are white, then Speckled Sussex

I was originally thinking it could be a Swedish Flower Hen but I agree, speckled Sussex could be right too. I had some years ago. I would love to have one again!

It just doesn't look like anything else that hatchery offers. The bit of the foot I can see does look yellow, so probably a SFH.
