New chick mama

Hello all. I just joined but I have been looking up threads since I decided I wanted to raise some backyard chicken. Brought home 4 baby chicks 3 and half weeks ago. I got 2 salmon favorelle and 2 cukoo maran, love them they are awesome little critters. Named them after the golden girls although, I'm starting to think one of the maran maybe a little roo. which may mean a revamping of names. we will see. These pics are a little over a week ago.

Adorable babies, and I like the Golden Girls naming protocol. Hope all yours really are hens.

My Salmon Faverolles are lovely girls who lay well but are divas when it comes to WHERE to lay; they seem to favor an already occupied nest box where they can SCREAM at the occupant until she gives up the box or I come out to remove someone. My Maran is much calmer. In any case, they are great breeds!
