If you bought something pre-fabbed based on the literature that stated it can house up to X birds, you're in for a bad situation. They are built with the worst quality wood imaginable with horrible ventilation and about 1/4 the size required to house the number of birds stated.
 
My sister is giving me hers, she doesn't have chickens anymore. Will need a little work but it's free. Also have working to make a large run.

They certainly have comb development. I'd say they are males.
Your coop is not one that I'd want to start with. I'm sorry to tell you that, but it is too small, doesn't have adequate security or ventilation.
If you can build something, you'll be much better off. If not, consider buying a used shed, or large dog kennel and converting it to a coop.
