Seems like you don't really need it, I mean it's always good if you can help the chick along but seems like it's doing fine now...... I would skip buying it and save money.

Thanks! The chick seems to be perfectly fine this morning. I think I just found the chick very shortly after hatching and it needed time to recover. These chickens are our first and we did not want or expect a rooster in the flock, so we were kind of learning how to raise chicks in a "sink or swim" fashion. Luckily, we have 3 healthy chicks with another one possibly on the way and the brood hens are doing most of the work of raising them.

One more update, for those who are interested. The chick is fine, and momma hen has shown it where the feed is (medicated chick starter, btw). Thank you all so much for your comments and help!
