New chick on the block

I highly recommend getting a calibrated thermometer or two to make sure your temperature is correct and getting a separately purchased humidity gauge, they sell for like $10 at Walmart, to make sure you're humidity is not too high.
Both of these two things are important when it comes to the chick hatching on time and hatching with an unabsorbed yolk.
Thank you I will!!

Putting a wet paper towel on a chick or an egg or an a membrane is not good.
If you want to keep membrane moist use a little bit of coconut oil or something similar but not water.
I know it sounds extremely silly but it makes it dry out faster when you put water on it.
Now THAT is helpful!! Thank goodness it didnt go wrong for me... Baby seems to have regrouped and is now hatching the rest of the way and seems like its lively!

I appreciate your info very much. I do love my birds. And nothing i read or watched mentioned what you said. Honestly after hours of pouring over articles and youtube NOTHING but water was ever mentioned so im very grateful to have you teach me better.
