A big hello to all! My husband and I started our chicken adventure a little over a month ago or so... And that's exactly what it's been, an adventure :D BUT we would have NEVER have made it this far without BYC!!! So my husband and I and our four lil biddy's thank you!!
Introductions:
My husband and I live on Whidbey Island, WA and are now the proud parents of four chickens; 2 Ameraucanas (Lucy & Marge) and 2 Rhode Island Reds (Gladys and Ethel)
Prior to picking them up at the feed store, the only knowledge I had was from my job (I'm a vet tech) & my husband had absolutely no experience either.
Besides being completely entertained by watching the girls grow up, building their coop, taking care of five cats, three dogs & a husband, & working, I enjoy sewing, painting and hiking.
Here are some pictures of the girls having a blast on their first full day in their new coop!

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Lovely girls you have there I've really enjoyed looking through your pics. Chicken TV is fantastic and I'm pleased to hear you have enjoyed watching them grow. I too love watching mine going about their chicken business!!

Wishing you the very best of luck with your girls in the future. Be sure to ask any questions that you may have, everyone here to help and very friendly.
Enjoy BYC :frow

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

Just informing you, your "Ameraucanas" look to be Easter Eggers instead. It's a VERY common mistake. I was sold an "Ameraucana" but she is also an EE. Aways, they are very pretty and I love their names! My EE's name is Quanie. (Named after the quantity of eggs she lays

I enjoyed reading your intro!
