New chick...potential coccidiosis

Hi All,
Today I got a beautiful new Polish chick. Unfortunately, I believe he has coccidiosis (bloody stool). I don't know what he was fed before, but if I keep him fed with medicated food, do you think he will heal? I'm not sure that we have an adequate vet in our area that works with chickens.

Hi and from Ohio. So glad you joined. If you are sure it is blood and not cecal poo which looks like blood and can be easily be mistaken. You can give it some Corrid, which is mixed in the water.

Welcome to BYC. Use Corid 9.6% liquid solution. Dosage is 9.5cc's per gallon of water for 5-7 days. Just put it in their waterer for all of them to drink. The corid will be in the cattle section at your feed store.
