New chick waterer...is it working? Video attached.

I bought a horizontal chick waterer. The idea is to keep the bedding dry and the water clean...also I have horizontal water drinkers for my chickens so I thought it would be easier if they could learn to use them from babies.

When I push on the nipple a drop of water comes out...they gobble it up and then peck like mad at the nipple but I don't know if they're able to get any out...

Does anyone have any suggestions how to make it work...or is it working?

Is the lid on tight? If it is, remove it and just set it on top so air can get in but chicks can't. Just snap it on one of the four sides to hold it in place.

That did it! It has a little flap on top which I just popped open a bit and now I can see them swallowing after they peck the nipple!
