New chick

I have 3 hens already and bought a new chick today. I know i cant put her in with my hens yet but will she be ok alone? They let me buy only 1 so i assume so but thought i would checj just in case. Ty all

Chicks/chickens are very social creatures, so getting a friend for her would be a great idea. Also, integrating one chick is painful to watch since all the others will pick on her....

Exactly - more chicks will divert attention from just one. If you can, I would get 3 total,

correct. Make sure that they are the same size.in addition I would still wait until the appropriate time to integrate them. This is a very debatable subject as to when that time is, look at some other threads on blending flocks and go from there.

I agree with boskelli; the more the better; chickens need that social interaction!

Ty everyone i went sunday and bought 2 more chicks. yay. Yall give such good advice I am so thankful for this site. Now I am working on getting these chicks to be a little more social than my last ones. One of my other 3 lets me pet her like a dog lol but the other 2 are not social at all. I have read on here treats and lots of attention will help. I have a list going im more prepared this time. Thanks again everyone.
