New chick?

My eggs from the hatchery hatched sunday and monday. Here is a picture. I was wondering if anyone can give me come ideas as to what breed of chick they could turn out to me.View attachment 1107261

Barred Rock, Dominique, black sexlink cockerels, or Cuckoo Marans for the black with white head spot. Rhode Island Red, Production Red, or red sexlink pullets for the reds. White Leghorn, White Rock or red sexlink cockerel for the white/yellow chicks.

Congratulations you have an excellent broody mama. Next time you can buy eggs of a particular breed you would like to have and let her do her "magic."

So when does she go back to laying eggs?

I've looked at the chicks. One of the black ones is really dark black and the other is more like a faded black, maybe some brown tint. I hope the yellows are buffs, but the rest I don't plan to keep.

That will be according to the hen, usually after she "weans" the chicks off, for some that could be a few weeks, some 2 or 3 months.

Just wanted to post a few new pictures.

Well doing some research on the suggestions, I am certain the black ones are Barred Rock. Going by the eggs they hatched out of they can't be Marans. Doing some searching on the red breeds the reds look like they are developing into Road Island Reds. Also the yellows, they can't be Leghorns. All the eggs were brown to very light brown. I'm hoping on Buff Orpington since that is what my adults are. Is anyone interested in these baby chicks?
