We are hatching chicks at my school. This was the first to hatch yesterday. Today 3 more went into the brooder with her. This one relentlessly attacked the other 3 smaller ones. I have a hen laying on 4 eggs due to hatch next week. So I brought this one home and put her under Tiny's wing. She immediately accepted her and hisses if I go to check on the chick lol. I'm hoping momma an keep her in line when the new babies arrive.

I have them still in the coop with the others. They should be okay in there?

She may not wait for the rest of her eggs to hatch if the new baby starts getting active. When are they due?
Do you have food and water in for the chick?
I would put up some kind of screening to keep mom and the chick together but within sight of the flock. When mom either hatches her eggs or abandons them, you can remove the barrier and allow her to decide when to take her chick(s) into the flock.

Yes I have chick feed and water next to them. They are due next Friday. They are on the floor in a pet carrier with the top off of it.
