My family has raised chickens most of my life. I've been away from it for yrs too long. I'm just now starting the process so it will be awhile before I can actually get the flock going. My intention is to have Black Copper Marans, but that can always be adjusted. Using recycled tobacco barn for my henhouse..should cut down on some expense. I'm looking forward to being here!

good luck getting everything sorted, me and my dad converted the Anderson shelter down the bottom of the garden for my hens took a while but well worth it in the end :)
 
That's awesome! I'm really looking forward to it! We also raise beef cattle so I figured it was only fitting to have chickens too.
