Hi,
I am new to chickens and my 3 ladies (about a year old) arrived almost 2 weeks ago from someone wanting to rehome them.
They travelled in their coop and when they arrived settled in really quickly, all are layiing every day.
They are lovely but one has been limping since arrival possibly (although I didnt notice until the nest day).

I and an experienced neighbour have checked for cuts, bumblefoot etc and cant see anything.
She is laying and feeding well and seems ok other than the limping and holding up her foot.

I tried to rest her in a smaller run, as they free range, but she got so desperate to get out to go to the coop and lay that I thought she'd hurt herself and so I let her back out and havent contained her since.

Would it be best to keep her in the smaller run for a few days but put her with the others at night and put her some straw in the unused duck house to lay in?
Sorry for all the questions and thanks so much in advance!!

Maybe keep them all in the run for a few days so she can rest and you can observe.
No, they won't like being confined if they are used to ranging, but too bad....lol...they'll get over it.
Assuage their frustrations with just a few treats a few times a day.
If she just strained something it should start improving within a week.

Thank you, thats a very good idea, she'll be much better if they are all together I'm sure.
I'll try that and keep you posted!
