(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes, we got our first chickens in May! A friend gifted us 2 Rhode Island Red hens, 2 Polish hens and 2 Polish roosters (we later found out they were roosters). We added 2 more, believe they are some sort of mix; a black hen and a black rooster with feathered feet (look more like an Easter Egger style though). We've since gifted one of the Polish roosters to a farm and recently added two Black Copper Maran pullets (July 11 hatch date).

Rhode Island Red, Buff Laced Polish Chicken, Black Copper Maran and Ameracuana/BCM mix? (unsure 100%)
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Their individual personalities! I never thought I'd love another animal as much as I do dogs. Chickens have won my heart.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening, arts and crafts, painting, working (I consider a hobby that pays the bills.

Newlywed with 2 cocker spaniels, 3 barn cats (only one sticks around all day and hangs out with our chickens and the other two appear at night), 2 bunnies, 10 chickens. I do social media management for a living and our dogs are IG "influencers" ha! We've gotten a whole lot of freebies for our farm animals through their account!
