New chicken coop/run construction (finally)

ok my son and I finally started the new coop/run and here are the pics in order i hope. the plan was to have a 8x8 house with a 48 foot run.


area before we started clearing it. ( very very old azaleas)

posts concreted in and about to start bracing and putting the floor on. (keep in mind i am a paramedic not a carpenter)

Great job. You may want to put a support under the center of the floor. 2x4s lying on edge can sag over time. The weight of the hens won't be a particular problem but after awhile my guess is that the weight of people going in & out may cause some sagging. A column of block with a 4x4 running the opposite direction to the 2x4s should do it. Keep up the good work!

Looks good. I'm in the same position. not a carpenter but as long as it serves the purpose for u and your chicks thats all that really matters right? My little ones are coming in April and i'm starting to build also. Good luck with your project.
