Good morning, all!

I am posting here to introduce myself and my flock. My name is Lindsey, and I LOVE birds and having a backyard chicken flock has been a life long goal of mine.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I am new to owning chickens at my own home, but I have cared for over 250+ species of birds in zoo/aquarium/sanctuary settings including a couple chickens that participated in our zoo shows (lol).

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? I have 16 - currently 4 week old chicks.

(3) What breeds do you have?

• Welsummer (2)
• Silver Laced Wyandotte (4)
• Silver Laced Polish (3)
• Barred Plymouth Rock (4)
• Blue Ameracauna (3)

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? Currently they are 4 weeks old as of Wednesday, so watching them grow has been my favorite part. I can't wait until they're full adult ladies and their personalities shine thorough, and they'll be poppin' out eggs!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I am a falconer, I love hunting, hiking, birding, photography and working with birds.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I have the most perfect husband in the world (Barry) who is also excited about the million eggs we should be getting from these ladies. It has been fun working on this project together, building the coop/run, picking out breeds and watching them grow up.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? I found this forum from google searching various questions I had (roo/hen, illnesses, behaviors etc.), and this page seemed to be the most popular result.
