Hi from Utah! In February, my husband texted me asking if I wanted chickens. I responded by saying, "Sure! We should get a couple of black and a couple of yellow ones."
10 weeks later, I am up to ears in chicken information and I am starting to get ideas about more chickens, chicken showing, chicken breeding, and lots of other things! This is a hobby that I do in my backyard. I do not live on a farm. I live within the city limits. I spend at least an hour a day hanging out with my chickens-holding them, walking with them, feeding them treats, and letting my girls play with them.
They are still in a containment space in the garage because it has gotten cold and snowy recently and the coop isn't done yet. No eggs yet. Still trying to figure out who is a rooster and who is a hen. And also making sure I have what I thought I had-Blue Andalusians, Rhode Island Reds, and Araucanas.
I am already making a list of the next ones I want to buy!
Any links, pictures, tips, really anything would be helpful at this point as I am very fresh at this...but I am LOVING IT!
