So, I’ve been researching chickens for quite a while and preparing to get some when a friend called and asked me to take in her older chickens because she was no longer allowed to keep them where she lived. I’ve had them two weeks. One of the brahma hens who is about 5-6 years old was sneezing when she came to me and missed feathers on her entire vent side. I’ve been treating their water with recover 911, oregano oil and acv. They have hemp bedding in their coop. organic feed from scratch and peck. Fresh herbs and greens everyday. But her sneezing seems to be getting slightly worse with a little bit of nasal drainage. Starting a couple days ago she is now breathing through her mouth a lot. So clearly in some distress. She has a droopy tail too. She is laying a normal looking egg every day and eating and drinking normally. Doesn’t seem to act lethargic. I picked her up today and applied vet rx and looked in her mouth, from what little knowledge I have it looks ok. I called around. Doesn’t seem to be any avian vets in our area. So any ideas what else I can do for her? Thanks

I’m sorry you are having this issue, and so early in 🥺. I saw this in another thread regarding respiratory illness and thought it might help.

I have no idea how to attach a link to it, so here is a pic 😊 Good luck to you, I hope this passes. @Wyorp Rock
