Good Morning! Thank you for Adding me to the group! Everyone is so nice here with commenting and answering questions!
New Chicken Keeper here. Started in April of 2021. I bought 4 Bard Rocks, 2 silver laced Wyandottes, 2 gold laced wyandottes, and 4 ISA browns. About a month later I was convinced that 5 of them were Roosters (by hear-say).. So I talked my husband into buying a few more as we would be rehoming 5… Our friend also went out and bought me 4 Buff Orpington’s (which I adore the coloring and size of the bird). Welp, me and my husband also went out and the stars aligned… TS (tractor supply) was having a chick sale… BUY 4 GET 4!!! Who could pass that up? And they were all being sold as pullets! I looked in the bins and saw the chickens I was waiting for, Brahmas. Beautiful and cute little white chicks with black scarfs. I love the look and how chunky they are when they get older. They were also selling “Ameracaunas” (or so they said). I brought them home and looked into the large container boxes at the new 16 chicks
. Hand feeding them once a day has made a huge difference with the friendliness of these birds. I have ALWAYS been deathly afraid of birds, but have come a long way with these little gals/possibly a guy or two.we also own 2 Drafts Horses and 2 Labradors, so our home farm will love the new additions!
