Can I ask something here? My older girls were 2 days old on April 11th when I bought them. Will they start laying soon? We have a few rather noisy girls (at times) but no egg

FIRST AND SECOND EGG! ALL IN ONE DAY! YAY! We are excited! It was a rubber egg, but hey, it’s a first!

We got our first and second HARD SHELL egg! These are really egg #5 and 6 (however all the others were soft shelled). We figured it was normal as it’s their first time. What a beautiful egg! We believe it’s from F’ing Chuck, our ISA Brown who has been laying in the nesting boxes and tucking fake eggs under her. She is super friendly (but wasn’t when we named her!)

Belated It's so eggciting to get your first eggs. Have you offered them any oyster shells. Most people give it to the birds in a side dish but I mix it in their feeders and as it settles to the bottom in the pan they take what they want. Good luck and have fun with your flock...

I bought a pink bird feeder from Tractor Supply which has their “side dish” of oyster shell.
Hoping to get more eggs in the next couple weeks! It’s almost like Christmas, going out and hunting in the nest box to see if they left anything
