Heres my girl extra crispy - Who lays those JUMBO eggs! She is such a friendly bird! Always hanging around with us. Her and her BFF Lemon [who is an ISA Brown].
Hi Lemon!
Lemon was part of “The Bigs” and was the group of 12 that I first started with this year. She comes to the screen door everyday and tells me to bring out some treats/scratch and also lets us know every morning that she has completed her rent payment
She is such a ham!
left the farm for a few days and had a friend watch the farm. Didn’t realize how much I would miss it! Let the girls out after two days of being “cooped up” in the chicken run.
Had to grab a few photos today once I let them all out.
Egg photos to come ASAP
went out for 10:00 check in. Scraped the droppings boards and collected 3 eggs. Had 4 more girls in nesting boxes. Guess they will wait till 12 to come out today to free range.
Yesterday we collected 7 eggs. Looks like we have a few late bloomers on our hands but I’ve heard that is true for some Wyandotte’s.. I only have seen 1 in the nesting box, the other 3 are a no show
Another Day, another new laying Hen!
she started laying yesterday (her little itty bitty egg) - the chicken was one of our golden laced Wyandotte’s! Small little egg it was the cutest thing.
then today I walked in on her squatting in the corner of the coop under the nesting box and plop, out came another little itty bitty egg.
since it’s her first time, I’ll take half the rent per day, hopefully those eggs get bigger and she can pay her rent in FULL
her egg is in the first photo (it’s the off colored whiteish one, but it was really a LIGHT LIGHT brown)
