Hello
I am new to keeping chickens. I'm from the UK but I live in France.

Currently we have 3 chickens (unfortunately one died recently) I have no idea what breed they are, but I will post a picture!

I love seeing my chickens every day they are so curious and relatively easy to keep, and the bonus is the eggs.

I'm trying to grow vegetables too but not too much luck there..

I moved to France 3 years ago with my partner and my daughter for a more rural way of living. We had 2 dogs but one passed recently (14yrs) the other is a border collie and we inherited 4 kittens when we moved in, but kept 2 of them.

I joined this group to understand the technicalities of keeping chickens and to keep an eye out for things that might go wrong, and to keep my hens happy.

Thanks for letting me join :)

I'm sure someone will be able to identify your chicken breeds from the photos. Unfortunately, I'm not that person.

Sounds like you have a great menagerie and a good start to rural living. I live in an area that has some of the best soil in the U.S., and still find veg gardening a challenge. Keep trying!! When I fail, I just blame the weather :)

It's okay to ask any questions, any time! Folks here enjoy helping others. Welcome to BYC!

Thank you all - I forgot to tell you their names the far left which unfortunately died was called Markle (Megan!), Toffee (Colour), Betty (boop) and Lady Gaga!
Lady Gaga is of course a naked neck. Betty looks like an australorp, Toffee looks to be a production hen of some kind, and Markle was possibly a delaware. I'm so sorry you lost her.
