Welcome to BYC! Get an electric fence. I give them a five star review. I have had my chickens for over a year and no raccoon or fox problems and i know they are around. I see them all the time. Also, for hawk issues, get a rooster. Mine fights off hawks. If you can manage an aggressive rooster, get a Columbian Rock. Super protective, but aggressive to people. Fabulous with the hens, very gentle and sweet with them. Make sure there are no holes in the coop that a weasel can get in through. Some can squeeze through holes less than an inch in diameter, so make sure your coop is tight and snug and all holes are covered with hardware cloth, not chicken wire, which predators can rip though (then why is it called chicken wire? lol) Weasels are a very deadly predator, and can wipe out a flock of twenty in one night. Their kill instinct is driven by motion not hunger. As the hens scramble around in terror, they will keep killing. Don't leave food lying around outside that will attract animals. You can put lights near your coop to scare off animals too. As long as you take care to make sure your coop and pen are predator proof, you should not have a single problem, so don't worry too much. Good luck with your chicks!
