Hi there!
my name is Montana, I got my first set of chickens last august. We got them as chicks and they were very easy little chicks. We started out with ten. 2 ended up being roosters and we weren’t ready to handle roosters so we rehomed them.
we let them roam around our property and unfortunately two neighbor dogs got out and got two of our 8 chickens (one was my fav I called big mama
) so I decided to get 4 more. Then the opportunity presented itself and I was able to get some silkies. Well one silky is just giving me a heck of a time and so I’ve been turning to the internet for help which is how I found backyard chickens. This site has helped me a lot but I seem to be having some more issues which is why I decided to join! Looking forward to chatting with people who are more knowledgeable than I am as I want to be the best chicken owner I can be. They don’t just give me eggs, they’re my pets. When I let them out of their coop i give each one pets as they go by. Love these little guys!
