Thank you! I appreciate your input. I actually have a stash of egg shells that I have been keeping in a gallon freezer bag in our freezer for a while. Everytime I eat one I throw the shell in there until I have enough to bake them and break them up to give to the chickens!Hi @Jojomarie23
I just wanted to let you know that I have been raising chickens for about 6 years. I have never purchased oyster shells. After eating the eggs, I clean and crush the shells, then feed them to the chickens as needed. Our chicken's shells are thicker than the store bought so it seems to work.
I am not sure how everyone else feels about this or if they prefer oyster shells.
