Good morning! I happened upon a few rescue hens from a local plantation I worked at part time. One is a white Silkie and the other a one-legged Dominique. Both are bonded and incredibly sweet. We thought the Dominique was past egg laying years as I had never seen her nest, but she recently started laying again which shows me she’s happy and healthy. To grow my flock I incubated some eggs from the plantation and wound up with two males and three female babies that are now 10 weeks old. Unfortunately one of the males, Prince, tries to assert his dominance over everyone including my two rescues. This I cannot have. He’s the sweetest toward me and my husband but to the older rescue hens, not sweet at all. Does anyone have a nice big property with lots of girls I can rehome him with?

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
I've had the best luck rehoming cockerels by posting them to Craigslist and to local Facebook poultry groups asking for a $5 fee. Once I find a home that doesn't tend to eat him, I waive the fee and give them their bird.
