Hello!
I am new to raising chickens but I am enjoying it so far! Every time I had a question some forum here had an answer so I thought it would be a good idea to join. I was gifted 2 silkies for Christmas. Then I found someone willing to part with 2 full grown buff orpingtons. Now the nice chicken man down the street is hatching out some Dominiques for me and some guinea fowl (we have ticks...lots of ticks.) Eventually I would like a flock of 12-20 chooks, 8 or so guineas and maybe that many ducks. Thank you for all the information you have shared so far and sorry in advance for the silly questions I am likely to ask

We love questions!

Welcome to BYC. There aren’t really any “silly questions” asking questions is just part of learning, someone may know the answer and think it’s simple but that doesn’t mean it’s a silly question. If anyone ever tells you it’s a “silly question” don’t listen to them they are just being rude :)

I'm glad there's another newbie on the block! ;) We are preparing for my chick order (not scheduled to arrive til early June) but planning the pen, coop etc and have my mealworms in high production in the pantry! I'm hoping you'll ask questions I've not thought of yet! It's so nice to have a community of helpful, knowledgeable chicken friends!
