Hello All!
My husband and I just got our first flock of chickens this year! He has wanted them for a few years now and I have not, knowing that I would be the one who ends up taking care of them. I finally relented thinking, "okay now that he has permission, he'll give up and not want to get them." I was wrong haha. We have two Rhode Island Reds (Nutmeg and Cinnamon), two Black Australorps (Pepper and Poppy) and two White Leghorns (Saffron and Ginger). I adore them! They were all born roughly around April 7th or so. They were about a week old when we got them on April 13th. Nutmeg just started laying on August 7th and has consistently laid everyday since! I was so excited that I was jumping up and down and punching the air! Now I'm just waiting for the rest of the girls to lay. Saffron and Cinnamon are doing the "squat" so hopefully any day now!
