Hi All!, We bought a house with land two years ago. We got two donkeys and I’ve been anticipating getting goats, and I thought maybe one day, chickens. In January I had decided after we returned from our nieces wedding, I would get some chicks if Tractor Supply still had some in May when we returned. The day after arriving home I told my husband I needed to “run an errand.”
To my surprise, Tractor Supply still had chicks! They had a lot, too, and they were all the same kind. I got the leghorns. I really wanted Easter Eggers or Buff Orpingtons, but maybe some day! My husband it’s on coop building detail now (and happily so). He’s enjoying the chicks, too. I have twin seniors about to fly the coop to college or wherever life takes them, so I guess we’re feeling the empty nest coming! I’m also concerned about food shortages and wanted to be prepared.(with eggs) Last night my husband needed to run to Tractor Supply for supplies. He made the mistake of bringing me with him
I heard cheeping sounds and went to explore! We now also have two beautiful Blue Plymouth Tints (same as Blue Plymouth Rocks?) and two beautiful Welbar’s!! My daughter-in-law said I’m not allowed to go to Tractor Supply any more.
This is great fun!!
