(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

We are new to chickens - we got ~13wk old pullets back in March

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

We have four ladies

(3) What breeds do you have?

- Australorp
- Bantam frizzle (brown)
- Salmon Favarolles
- Easter egger

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

So far, we just love how cute they are, and how unique their little personalities are. The eggs are just recently starting to be more consistent among them all, and are very delicious. But more than that, I love all the sounds they make, and just having them around while I tend the garden or have a coffee out back. They are so funny and cute. Did I mention I think they're cute??

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I like to garden, cook, bake bread, sew, crochet, learn other new crafts, ski/snowboard (back when my knees were still good), dance, camping, road trips..

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

In addition to the birds, I also care for the husband, 13 y/o step-son, 2 daughters, 5 and 3 years old, 3 dogs and a cat. I work full time as a tax accountant for a large company. It's a lot. But it's a lot of fun, too!!

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?

My cousin who got her birds last year, turned my onto BYC when I got mine in March, as a source of info - probably cus I was hounding her with all my questions and so very many concerns in those first several weeks. I've calmed down a bit now that the gals and I have grown more accustomed to each other and our schedules :)

I'm finally joining so I can post my comments/quesitons/pictures and reply in threads!!!

Super glad to be here - seeya in the threads!
