New Chicken Mom, nothing to compare my chicken to

Hey all! New chicken mom here (gift from the father in law at only seven hours old) I just have the one chick, very much a house chicken. Eight weeks old on Wednesday! They grow so fast! He /she is a bantam, a brahma bantam I think. Maybe an EE

I go back and forth between thinking hen or roo. She sometimes puffs up all his/her feathers like a a roo might, but ive also caught him/her making a nest with paper towels. I tried posting a month ago but Nugget was too young still. Any ideas? I only have the one so I've got nothing to compare to.

I'm thinking roo because of the hackles outlined in black in the second pic. Being just the one, that's probably good. Roos make the best pets IMHO.

Yea there is definitely some red in the coloring. But the comb is still yellow.
