New chicken mom to be in MA!

Hello!
I will be a first time chicken mom in about 3 weeks. I am excited and nervous. I’m a planner so I need to plan ahead and be prepared and ready (just like any mom is ready for kids, right!? ). I’ve done a lot of research and we’ll be brooding indoors until the weather is nice enough to get the chicks out. We are getting chickens primarily for eggs and entertainment. I don’t foresee using them for meat - I’m sure my son will immediately become vegetarian if he knew he was eating his „pet.”

Any tips and tricks from veteran chicken parents are greatly appreciated!
