New chicken mom

Hello all. Where to begin Friday night May 3 we had a horrible storm and woke up the next morning and there’s a chicken in my yard. So I’ve put the chicken in our coop that we have. And I don’t know if it’s a hen or a rooster. And in my neighborhood nobody around here has chickens so I do not know where this chicken came from. It is nice you can pick it up it likes to be held but I just don’t know if it to hen or rooster. At night I put the chicken in a large dog crate just until I can get a new door on my coop. This morning it did crow but not a crow like a rooster it wasn’t very made out. I really hope it’s a hen.

When we got our 8 chicks, 3 were Roos, not by choice, and 1 always made a crowing noise, like he was practicing for his "big day." That's when I called my Rooster farmer who identified the boys and took them. Good luck!

It was my Birthday Saturday so my kids said it was a gift from God he flew me in a chicken. I named her/he Sabrina. I figured it was a hen because she was clucking this morning is the first time I heard the not that great of a crow. It wasn’t like How a big rooster crows.

You should go on the “breed and gender” forum and post the pics and ask what breed and gender... someone should know.. I’d like to know what breed... he looks special!
