In the Brooder
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I bought about 15 chickens on impulse last year in March.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
After that batch, I have 7 left.
(3) What breeds do you have?
4 Easter Eggers, 3 Silkies--all bantams. They're eggs are so small!
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Basically watching them live and interact. They free range. I think they're funny. Especially, my rooster, Earl. Better watch out for him!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm a mom of two. My kids love the chickens. And we just found out that 4 of our hens are all brooding at the same time! Three eggs have hatched already out of 11!!! And I have no idea what I'm doing which is the fun part for me.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
