New chicken mum

Hi everyone, new chicken mum here and was wondering if you should be able to feel food in their crop? My 6 girls have pellets out all day and they graze all day in a big garden, but I can feel their keel bone when I pick them up and wondered if this is normal.
Welcome to BYC!!
I agree with what conefly said first. :)

Some breeds are leaner than others and a prominent keel is no problem. Excessive weight can cause serious health issues. If you are concerned that your birds are too thin, you might want to have a fecal sample run to see if they have worms.

It's relatively normal. The crop is on the upper right of the chest. If you feel around their chest during midday, you should feel large, hard buldge, that's the crop. As long as the birds aren't super light and have some meat on eitherside of the keel, they'll be fine :)
Thankyou so much for that info.
