New chicken owner here!

Hi! I am new here. I have backyard chickens and can’t wait to communicate with other chicken owners. I acquired my chickens from my grandfather who passed away in a terrible car accident. It was his wish to give them to me. I am always worried about them and look forward to advice from other chicken owners because I don’t know what I am doing! But I also very much enjoy it.

Thank you everybody!! I really appreciate it. I posted my first question in a forum but will post it here too.. is this mites/lice or nothing to worry about? It’s in the vent area of some of my chickens. I don’t see any little bugs anywhere tho.
