New Chicken Owner in Apache Junction, AZ

Hi All,

After years of trying to convince my wife that we could raise chickens, as of Xmas morning I am the proud owner of 6 chicks!

My wife who grew up with a small farm worth of animals refused to care for chickens as she hated her chores. But every article, book or situation that I came by about chickens I would share with her. And I got the eye rolls etc. Well as egg prices are not going down and we have plenty of friends and family to share eggs with... well she decided to surprise me. So here we go...... now for a coop build.

Hi and welcome to byc! Glad your badgering eventually paid dividends. All the best with your coop build. Be sure to make it at least twice the size as you may have originally envisaged, cos i guarantee chicken maths will have you in its vice-like grip before you know it
