    Hi All,

After years of trying to convince my wife that we could raise chickens, as of Xmas morning I am the proud owner of 6 chicks!

My wife who grew up with a small farm worth of animals refused to care for chickens as she hated her chores. But every article, book or situation that I came by about chickens I would share with her. And I got the eye rolls etc. Well as egg prices are not going down and we have plenty of friends and family to share eggs with... well she decided to surprise me. So here we go...... now for a coop build.

Hi and welcome to byc! Glad your badgering eventually paid dividends. All the best with your coop build. Be sure to make it at least twice the size as you may have originally envisaged, cos i guarantee chicken maths will have you in its vice-like grip before you know it :D

[IMG] glad you have joined us and congrats on getting your own flock.

Make sure to include features in your coop/run to make the "chores" easier and bet your wife will find this a fun adventure as well.

Welcome to the Backyard chickens flock. I bet your wife will quickly become a "crazy chicken lady," and love it. Just don't tell her I said so.

Welcome to the flock. My girls are in Montana while we spend the winters next door to you in Mesa.
